JERRY CALOW

Jerry Calow: September Eleven

SEPTEMBER ELEVEN

September Eleven rendered unto heaven
the souls of so many, loved ones a plenty

The World Trade Center’s towers of human genders
were forced to surrender to the plane senders

Chorus:
Never, not ever will they return
mountains will crumble, seas will tumble
things will never be the same

So many ordinary people to protect family,
country and steeple
flew home to their maker in the clutches
of the plane takers

Only misguided morals would dictate such horrors
as ground zero turned asunder
in a crashing cloud of thunder

Conjoined in the pull of gravity
and with so much calamity
ground zero was born and a nation was torn

Chorus:
Never, not ever will they return
mountains will crumble, seas will tumble
things will never be the same

The brotherhood of heroes in the aftermath
of human torpedoes
put their lives on the line for your life and mine

This haloed ground zero birthplace of heroes
womb of the nation a symbol to all generations

This nation above all will rally a call
that justices prevail and freedom be hailed

Chorus:
Never, not ever will they return
mountains will crumble, seas will tumble
things will never be the same

America’s resolve is to find credence for all
our freedom was blighted, our fervor ignited

We take upon ourselves an allegiance that swells
our enduring commitment to pursue this engagement

America’s endeavor is to preach forever
that freedom loving nations can live in peace and revelation

Chorus:
Never, not ever will they return
mountains will crumble, seas will tumble
things will never be the same

America’s endeavor is to preach forever
that freedom loving nations can live
in peace…… again!
