FROM BIRTH TO DEATH
The Government thinks it knows best
Wants to tell us how to live our life
They even want to make decisions
That should be between a Man and Wife.
Their morals and beliefs they think
The rules they feel we must live by
They want it to start before we're Born
And even take control of how we Die.
If they don't think it's right for them
Then it must be wrong for everyone
Some must think they are a God
And that their Will, shall be done.
Well, I've got a news flash for them
The "common" people have sense, too
And we don't always need some bureaucrat
To tell us what we need to think or do.
When they think they are above the Law
And can force the People to bow down
Before their so-called ivory towers
Then their walls will tumble to the ground.
To believe in something is just great
And it may work for them just fine
But when they shove it down our throats
That's when they have crossed the line.
And some of them should really practice
And be True to Morals that they Preach
Maybe Learn some real Integrity
Before they start to feel it's theirs to Teach.
It's supposed to be, "We, the People"
At least, that's how it was meant to be
But if we keep letting them take our Rights
It sure won't be, "The Land Of The Free".

Author’s Note: I wrote this yesterday and posted on poetry forum, PipTalk.com and I usually get several responses to my posts but only got two on this so far.
We should all be worried about this mess and it should at the least, make everybody realize they should have their wishes on record so their loved ones don't have to go through the same thing and also to keep the busy-body politicians out of our business. Not so much the right or wrong or truths or untruths in the story. It's that we are supposed to have a rule of law and the law keeps speaking and the politicians keep trying to bring THEIR will to bear.
Seventeen or so Judges and six Courts with all the facts which none of us know have already given their rulings. I think that is very dangerous when the politicos feel they can make their own rules and laws as they go.
