As a Navy wife during the Viet Nam War, Pris was profoundly affected by the war. Her poems are an attempt to share the war from her perspective. Pris states that more vets have committed suicide than were killed in the war and believes it to be the responsibility of us all to make every effort to ensure that never happens again.
