TO THE "DIGGER MATES"... ON THEIR AUSTRALIA DAY...

Better mates you'll never find...
And I'm so proud you're friends of mine!

This poem is just a word or two...
To tell you mates how much that's true!

Australia's strong and free today...
Not by luck, if I may say?

But by you mighty "Diggers Mates"...
Who stood your ground and spit at fate!

That's why this day is set aside...
To honor, thank, your Aussie pride!

Where "Mateship" isn't just a word...
But something real that has occurred!

Where a nation truly came together...
And said it will be free forever...

This "Yank" is proud to be your friend...
And always will until his end!

For I believe like all you mates...
We truly know what freedom takes!
