TO RONALD REAGAN - INSPIRED BY GOD, INSPIRING GOOD
Ronald Reagan passed from us today, a Godly man,
Who brushed aside nay-sayers that abide by Satan's plan
He never strayed from confidently showing right from wrong
And thus infuriated godless leftists decades long
For many felt an actor such as he could not work out
Presiding o'er America through trying times of doubt
He may have known that half our people don't deserve to live
In such a land of plenty, when they take and never give;
When sandal-wearing Berkeley prof's spew anti-U.S. bile
When spoiled rotten Ivy Leaguers shout abuses vile
When newsmen ruined by God-knows-what can only hate our land
Ol' Ronnie Ray-gun just would smile, and stretch a helping hand
With utter fondness I recall a brisk, October day
When Reagan stood before us as we marched in full dress gray
I'd never seen such pure delight shown at our rock-bound place
I swear that glowing beams of pride streamed from that ruddy face
And when he strode up to the poop deck for the eve's address,
Sam Donaldson quipped "speechy, speechy!" How just like our press!
But Ron would ne'er retaliate, despite those times he could,
So let this tribute stay to an ambassador of good.
