THE OFFICERS’ SHOWER

The officers had their shower, from a heater in a tower,
in Viet Nam many years ago.
But the troopers fetched their water, after warming it just sorta,
in a thing called bloody so and so.

Troopers plans were only fleeting, so they held a little meeting,
about the shower that’s status quo.
‘Til they had some plans a rollin’, for a man to put a hole in,
the heater, before the movie show.

Though he lacked a formal docket, a man carried in his pocket,
the explosives for the tank he’d blow.
With officers in their showers, the man waited what seemed hours,
for the precise moment he would go.

Right in the middle of stand to, (that’s when talking really taboo),
and the time seemed to be going slow.
There came a thund’rous explosion, and officers without clothes on,
came running with their faces aglow.

The cops quickly had been called in; they tried hard not to show their grin,
while dealing with their officio.
The soldier was never doubted, and his glory never flouted,
he was sent home as a war hero.

(10 months later)
The officers may remember, as they washed around their member,
it was so sticky but nice although.
No one told them, but I oughta, ‘cause they’d bathed in sugared water,
In Vietnam… so long ago.
