PLACES I HAVE BEEN
Soul searching backs memories,
Faces looking for inner peace,
Life takes the heart and love,
Moving around marks my searing mind.
Lonely nights and long days,
Mind of thoughts whirling to no end,
Places I have been, it only comes down to one thing.
Truth and lies search the endless miles,
Smiles, sadness, strife, and survival.
The veteran in me has kept me alive.
